We get this question on a regular basis. Whats different about what you are doing than any of the other digital safety providers.

This is a valid question and I'd like to address it here.

Do you want the quick answer? What is easier to sort through, 50 pieces of paper, or 50 PDF's? The answer, typically, is 50 pieces of paper on my desk. This is much faster than opening 50 PDF's on my computer screen and reading through them. Form submission systems supply a safety manager with submitted PDF's which need to then be analyzed and entered into an analytical system to for tracking. While SafetyTek does this automatically so that safety managers are able to jump into reporting without all of the pre-work necessary.

Safety professionals receive a tonne of marketing emails from digital safety companies. They all offer some solution to get rid of paperwork or track training. They have some sort of learning management system (LMS). These are all problems that safety professionals, at some point in their career, will face.

The form submission systems claim to solve the paperwork problem. The claim is something like this. Go digital! Make your safety forms digital and everything will get better! As if by deploying a form library onto your workers phones is going to fix safety.

This is where SafetyTek and these systems separate. In fact, we don't have anything in common besides the fact that we are digital. If you boil it down, you could build a form submission system yourself, for free, using google docs. Import your safety form templates and share them with your workers. This works great for eliminating paperwork, yet it does nothing to solve the heavy load that follows safety.

SafetyTek is more than a form library that your workers access from their phones or tablets.

You can further engage them through positive re-enforcement. On the other side, you are able to locate your problem users and put in place methods to correct their behaviour. We've seen companies tie compensation to worker safety behaviour. This will highlight that safety is important, so important that your bonus depends on it. SafetyTek gives you the data to manage all this, without creating MORE work for yourself.

With a form submission system you still have to perform the same tasks. The only difference is rather than sifting through 30 pieces of paper you have 30 PDF's on your computer. To be honest, you're better off with paper if that's the case. I can comb through 30 documents on paper MUCH faster than looking through 30 PDF's on my computer. Digital safety form submission systems shift desk clutter into digital clutter. That takes as much, if not more, time to deal with. They apply more pressure on safety professionals to keep up with;

  • advancing regulations,
  • growing workforces,
  • higher risk scenarios, and
  • all the more pressure to provide value to the companies bottom line.
