 A WVDOH worker directing traffic in Kegley, WV was hit by a drunk driver.

Mercer County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating an accident where a West Virginia Division of Highways flagger was hit by a drunk driver on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015.  It happened at around 10 a.m. on Route 19 in Kegley, WV.   The victim was directing traffic around crews who were performing ditching in the area of Bartley Lane and Shawnee Baptist Church.  Officials with the Department of Transportation said there were signs posted showing road work was in progress.

The WVDOT sent the following tweet about the incident.

According to the West Virginia Department of Transportation, the victim was taken to the hospital with a leg injury and a head injury.  Deputies said the worker was hit by a person driving a red Ford F-150.  The driver is Robin Hines.  He was arrested on a DUI Involving Injury charge.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim was Bobby Lawrence.  He was taken to Princeton Community Hospital for treatment.
